OrbiLight-II Ring Light

The OrbiLight-II™ advanced-control LED Ring Light

The OrbiLight-II ring light is a unique computer-controlled inspection lighting system for microscopes and cameras, that gives unprecedented visibility of subtle and hidden defects, for use in industrial, scientific and medical manufacturing QC applications.  Advanced-control means that you can control the ring light from a computer, or you can plug an ordinary computer mouse directly into the OrbiLight-II and control it without the need for a computer.

  OrbiLight-II™ Ring Light

STEERABLE LIGHT

Up to 140 lumens of white light from 80 high-intensity LEDs is steerable in any direction in 9 degree increments, making it ideal for highly reflective surfaces. The light beam width is also completely adjustable from omni-directional (360 degrees) to highly directional (9 degrees) in 9 degree increments.

See full electrical specifications.  See full mechanical specifications.

COMPUTER CONTROL

The OrbiLight-II can be controlled through an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) from any Windows based personal computer with a com port.  This makes it ideal for computer-based video microscope systems.  It also works with embedded Windows

MOUSE CONTROL

The OrbiLight-II can also be controlled without a computer.  An ordinary PS/2 computer mouse, even a WIRELESS mouse, can be plugged directly into the OrbiLight-II, providing a clean, uncluttered operating environment.

Mouse control of the OrbiLight is easy and intuitive. Move the mouse in clockwise circles, and the light rotates clockwise. Move the mouse in counter-clockwise circles, and the light rotates counter-clockwise. Move the mouse fast and the light rotates fast. Move the mouse slowly and the light rotates slowly. Pause at any desired light angle. Rotate the mouse wheel forward to turn on more LEDs. Rotate the wheel backward to turn on fewer LEDs... as few as one LED.

Click the left mouse button to select one of 7 different presets including automatic rotation of the light, allowing hands-free operation.  To stop automatic rotation just move the mouse in any direction.

Click the right mouse button to select one of five different light intensity presets: 100%, 25%, 12%, 5%, or 2%.

See animated demos of the mouse functions.

NO MOUSE, NO COMPUTER CONTROL

The OrbiLight-II can also be controlled without a computer OR a mouse. As a hand-held inspection light or a microscope-mounted light, the lighting mode is controlled by a button press which sequences the OrbiLight through a customizable sequence of configurations that can include any intensity, angle, color, rotation or light pattern. The custom sequence is programmed into each OrbiLight at time of manufacturer. Just let us know what sequence you need.
